The Sound Behind the Music

Nashville Based songwriter artist Lonnie Spiker has had a long and interesting path leading to his success.  His music has appeared in many Movies and Television shows and as an artist he has a fanbase all over the world.  He spends a lot of time writing and starting to Tour again.  He has won multiple awards for his music, songs and even acting in a music video.

Lonnie is always current with new singles on Honky Tonk radio. Most of his music is based in the Traditional Texas Honky Tonk vein of Country Music.

Lonnie started his long winding road to where he is now many years ago in Uniontown PA where he was born.  His family were great Country Music fans and many were musicians so he grew up around the music he loves today.  He became a regular on WWVA's Wheeling Jamboree and was touring with Leon Douglas as well as playing the many Honky Tonks in PA, OH, WV and MD that were around at the time.

He started coming to Nashville TN around that time to learn how to write a good Country song.  A trade he enjoyed almost as much as performing so he made the move to Nashville.  He worked for Leon Ashley and Margie Singleton on their roadshow where he learned the difference between a Good Country song and a Great Country song.

After recording in Nashville and learning his craft from many many Stars and artists it was time for him to breakout on his own.  Remembering the music he listened to on Texas radio stations which he could pick up at his home in Pennsylvania Lonnie began his recording career by releasing his music to the same stations that he listened to as a child.  Lonnie always say's "Texas has been real good to me and me to it".  He played the Honky Tonks and bars throughout the state and beyond.  He recorded his second album "Unapologetically Honky Tonk" and his third album "Coming To A Honky Tonk Near You" in Texas with producers Bill Green and Justin Trevinio respectively.  Then Lonnie found Curt Ryle in Nashville who understood the Texas sound and how to produce it well.  That led to him doing shows in many other parts of the world.

As Lonnie was working his way as an Artist other people started to take notice of his original music and other's recorded his songs.

Later his music started getting used on Television Shows and then Movies.

A long winding road for sure and yet he still has the down home personality that has made him a favorite of Disc Jockeys around the world.
